Privacy policy
Autosort is a desktop app that copies photos and videos from camera cards into folders on your computer. This policy explains what information the autosort.io website and the Autosort app collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: beta@autosort.io.
The website
- The site uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Its fonts are served from autosort.io itself.
- Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) to run and secure the site.
Beta sign-ups
- When you request a beta invite we collect what you enter: name, e-mail address and, if you give them, your business, region, booking calendar, number of shoots, computer type, the kind of work you shoot and any notes.
- We use this only to choose testers, send your invitation and e-mail you about the beta. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
- Sign-ups are stored in a Google Sheet in our Google account, so Google processes them on our behalf.
- We keep sign-up details until the beta ends and for up to 12 months after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
The Autosort app
Autosort runs on your computer. Your photos and videos are copied directly from your cards to the folder you choose and never pass through our servers. Your settings, sorting history and reports stay on your computer, and your calendar link is stored encrypted for your Windows account.
The app connects to these services:
- Your calendar provider, using the link you provide, to read your bookings.
- OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service, to look up coordinates for booking addresses so drone GPS can be checked. Only the address is sent. This can be turned off in the settings file.
- autosort.io, every few hours, to check for updates. This request includes the app version; our hosting provider logs it like any web request.
- Error and upload-failure reports. When an upload fails or the app crashes, Autosort sends a short report: app and Windows version, counts of files and shoots, error messages and the type of destination folder. Client names, property addresses, folder paths, e-mail addresses, calendar links and keys are removed before sending. You can turn these reports off on the app’s Feedback page.
- Feedback you send from the app’s Feedback page, including your e-mail address if you add one and, if you tick the box, diagnostic information with the same details removed.
Reports and feedback are stored in a Google Sheet in our Google account and used only to fix problems and improve Autosort.
Your choices
- E-mail beta@autosort.io to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop beta e-mails.
- Uninstalling Autosort removes the program. The uninstaller asks whether to delete your settings and history as well.
Children
Autosort and this site are for professionals and are not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell beta testers by e-mail.
